Rehabilitation

.

Through pain or pathology, people develop abnormal movement patterns that need to be addressed before complete healing can be achieved. Rehabilitation is key to the management of many disorders and injuries, such as a sprained ankle, a post-surgical knee, or a disc herniation. Rehabilitation involves the use of corrective exercises in combination with the use of therapeutic devices, adaptive equipment, or specialized machines to achieve the goals of your specific treatment plan. The doctors at Lake Marion Chiropractic are uniquely trained and experienced in dealing with evaluating individuals to determine what specific muscular or neural deficiency is attributing to your injury, so that a specialized plan can be developed. Our goal is to get you back to your everyday activities quickly and give you the tools and knowledge you need to help prevent injuries in the future.

Corrective Exercise Programs

These programs are designed based on the patient’s specific weakness and compensation patterns. Compensation patterns are abnormal motor patterns that people develop after sustaining an injury, from poor structural development, or even from pathological problems. At Lake Marion Chiropractic, the doctors screen patients for abnormal motor patterns and develop customized exercises programs to strengthen weakened areas and inhibit overactive muscles. Our goal at Lake Marion Chiropractic Clinic is not only to get you out of pain, but also make sure you are functioning properly and less likely to get injured in the future.

Decompression Therapy

At Lake Marion Chiropractic, we offer axial spinal decompression for both the cervical and lumbar regions. Spinal decompression is a non-invasive method for treating conditions such as disc herniations/tears, facet arthrosis and calcification, and any radicular symptoms, such as pain, numbness, or tingling into the upper or lower extremities. Spinal Decompression therapy utilizes a computer-controlled logarithmic contraction sequence of variable weights and tensions that are specific to each patient. The treatments are designed to help retract the disc herniation, alleviate radicular symptoms, and promote tissue healing.
